[PG] Parental Guidance: Protecting Young Hearts: The Critical Role of EKGs in High School Sports Physicals
Registration: https://jhsmiami.zoom.us/webinar/register/3417478459454/WN_TOAfW138TLihSod8mHfBdA
Details: Parents expect their high school athletes to come home safe after every game, race, or competition – but an unknown heart issue can lead to a tragedy in an instant. A quick electrocardiogram (EKG) during a sports physical can identify hidden heart issues before they become emergencies, giving parents and coaches peace of mind.Beginning next school year, Miami-Dade County Public Schools will require all high school athletes to have an EKG once during their high school years. In our upcoming “pop up” Parental Guidance episode, we’ll share details about how this simple, non-invasive test can detect heart conditions early and save lives.
