Payment Status Not Available on IRS Stimulus Check Get My Payment Website

Payment Status Not Available on IRS Website. IRS.gov Crashes?  According to Mnuchin, millions of Americans have received their $1200 Economic Stimulus Check for the IRS, but millions are visiting the new IRS website and clicking on “Get My Payment”, but after completing the form they are getting the message “Payment Status Not Available”.

While the IRS has made no mention of the real problem, experts are predicting that the IRS.gov tool was launched prematurely without the proper programming, and therefore defaults to that message.

Government websites have long been known as disasters when first launched, as was the Healthcare Marketplace website, which crashed as soon as it was launched. So don’t despair. Stay in touch with the latest on the IRS Twitter site which seems to be more up to date. www.twitter.com/irsnews .

The IRS is committed to helping you get your Economic Impact Payment as soon as possible. The payments, also referred to by some as stimulus payments, are automatic for most taxpayers. No further action is needed by taxpayers who filed tax returns in 2018 and 2019 and most seniors and retirees.

For most taxpayers, payments are automatic, and no further action is needed. This includes taxpayers who filed tax returns in 2018 and 2019 and most seniors and retirees.  All others need to visit https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/economic-impact-payments to tell the IRS where to send you payments.  Hang on in there and I will keep you informed.  Follow me on my LinkedIn account to stay up with the latest news on SBA, IRS, Loans, Grants and Covid-19 related information.
