About the Workshop:
- The role of police assistance during preparations for potential threats, and crisis response and assistance to the public.
- Risk and crisis management assessments, preparations, and response: Jacques Island, Inquesta Corporation.
- Information systems and disaster recovery, particularly that of IT systems: Daniel Miret, StealthTech.
The business community of the Miami-Dade County is expecting an extraordinary hurricane season this year that, in addition to the consequences and damages of a major natural disaster, could spill over to social unrest as well. This was evident in the last major such disaster when Hurricane Andrew devastated much of the county’s infrastructure and public order crumbled in much of the county, leaving homes and businesses exposed to crime.
In cooperation with the Doral Chamber of Commerce, we aim to provide the myriad of small businesses in our county with a focused and effective BUSINESS CONTINUITY WORKSHOP to help them to quickly and effectively prepare for a variety of potential hazards or threats to their businesses, with an emphasis to heat waves, windstorms, and flooding threats we are likely to face.
Participants will walk away with a good understanding of the process for creating their business continuity plan and the tools and equipment they will need to manage such an event successfully.
